Reliance to Build 1 GW AI Data Centre in Andhra Pradesh After Google’s Mega Investment
The new facility, paired with a 6 GW solar project, pushes Andhra Pradesh closer to its goal of becoming India’s largest AI and data infrastructure hub.

AI Data Centre in Andhra Pradesh
Reliance Industries has announced plans to set up a massive 1 GW AI data centre in Andhra Pradesh, marking the second major investment in the state’s fast-growing digital infrastructure ecosystem after Google's recently unveiled 1 GW data centre cluster backed by a $15 billion commitment.
The upcoming facility will be built as a fully modular data centre, equipped with advanced GPUs, TPUs, and next-generation AI processors, mirroring Reliance’s high-capacity data centre in Jamnagar.
The deal was formalised on Friday during the CII Partnership Summit, where Reliance executive director PMS Prasad signed a memorandum of understanding with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The company also announced plans to develop a 6 GW solar power project to sustainably power the data centre, reinforcing Reliance’s push toward green AI infrastructure.
This announcement comes on the heels of Andhra Pradesh finalising deals with Google (1 GW) and Sify (500 MW), taking the state significantly closer to its ambitious target of establishing 6 GW of data centre capacity.
Andhra Pradesh IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh recently told ET that the state aims to position itself as India’s premier hub for AI, cloud, and high-performance computing by attracting global and domestic giants.
With Reliance joining the fold, Andhra Pradesh now stands firmly on track to becoming one of the country’s most powerful data infrastructure corridors.
